UCSB Arts & Lectures presents the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour on its 27th year in Santa Barbara, featuring two nights and two thrilling programsof the world’s best mountain films on Tues., Feb. 27 & Wed., Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m. at The Arlington Theatre.
A Santa Barbara institution, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour is a perennial A&L fan favorite. Featuring the world’s best films and videos on mountain subjects, the tour awes viewers with thrills and grandeur captured in exotic locations the world over. The show features a wide variety of film subjects, from extreme sports to mountain culture and environment. An entirely different program of films screens each night. This year marks 27 years of screening the Festival’s very best creations from mountain filmmakers and athletes, bringing a superb mix of high-octane exploration, adventure and mountain culture films from around the world. In the mix this year are16 stories that span from adventures in the Amazon to the mythical peaks of Mont Blanc; from the wild imaginings of a child to the true-story feats of a 90-year-old; from hiking to biking and from kayaks to skis.
