Unity Shoppe Benefit concert a smashing success.

Tom Reed, Executive Director of The Unity Shoppe, thanks the performers and audience for making the event a financial success for The Unity Shoppe, which provides "basic needs" to help prevent "homelessness and welfare dependency".

Christopher Cross opened up the show, donning an hour long set which included crowd pleasing favorites such as Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do), Sailing and Ride Like the Wind. Cross's unique, silky voice is still as clean and sweet as ever. In addition to a set with his {mosimage}band, Cross also strummed a solo or two, accompanied only by his acoustic guitar.

The Alan Parsons Live Project started things off with goodies such as Don't Answer Me, Time and I Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You. Psychobabble showed off the talent of the entire band, who orchestrated a lengthy jam worthy of loud applause. Local favorite guitar player, Allister Green, accompanied the Project on We Play the Game, a techno-fusion style diddy way ahead of its time. Only recently arranged for live performance, La Sagrada Familia rocked us with the entire band singing in tight unison. The pace kept up with Prime Time, when I noticed my entire row all stomping their feet in unison and nodding to the beat. The song finished with a jazz piano and electric guitar duel that was both clever and humorus. Eye In The Sky closed out the set with Parsons providing the vocals to the whole house on their feet, singing along.

The band concluded the show with a fabulous encore, including Old & Wise, featuring a great lead guitar and a ripping finale. The show finished with Games People Play, which had the crowd shakin’ their booty.
